COSCO SHIPPING Lines Announces:

- Wando Terminal - CHARLESTON

(Details for All Listed Below)

May 18, 2018

Dear Valued Customer,

COSCO SHIPPING Lines (North America) Inc. is committed to providing excellence in customer service to our valued customers. We have received the below notice regarding closed roads causing congestion to rail ramps from the Wando Terminal in Charleston.

“I526 has a bridge that crosses the Wando River, one side, the westbound side was closed for emergency repairs on Monday. The westbound lane is main route for trucks leaving the Wando Terminal to reach both rail ramps as well as I26. Normally using this route takes 15-20 minutes to reach the ramps and I26. With the closure, all traffic must now go through Mt Pleasant and use the Ravenel Bridge. This has increased the time to reach ramps to almost two hours due to the heavy congestion. The port is taking steps to open the Wando gates at 0300 to help with the gridlock.”

Also note there was also a delay in vessel operations for the COSCO GLORY which started work at 0800 on 5/17, however due to a power outage, stopped at 0830. Power was restored at 1800 same day. Vessel should sail this afternoon 1700.
