- Weekly Service Notification

Dear Valued Customers,

In order to better serve our customers we would like to provide weekly notifications to you to keep you better informed of any delays with our vessel services, rail services or port issues so that you can make any necessary changes or adjustments with your shipment.

Please review the below current issues for this week.


Vessel Service Activity:

Many Trans Pacific Trade delays due fog season in China.

Trans Pacific Trade - USEC+USG/Asia
AWE1/USEC4 - while there are still some delays at Ningbo and Shanghai, vessels are improving and sailing Busan close to on time.
AWE2/USEC1 - while there are still some delays at Ningbo and Shanghai, last 4 vessels sailing last Far East port Busan 1-3 days late.
AWE4/USEC2 - last 3 vessels sailing last Far East port Shanghai 1-2 days late.
GME/USEC7 - there are delays of 1-3 days.
GME2/USEC6 - especially at Shanghai and Ningbo, there are delays of 1-3 days.

Trans-Atlantic Trade - USEC+USG/Europe
MENA/TA1 - steady improvement continues on this service, also a couple ships have yet to recover completely.

Trans Pacific Trade - West Coast North America/Asia
CEN/PSW2 - due to fog season in China especially at Shanghai, some vessels delayed 2-4 days.
AAC/PSW4 - due to fog season in China especially at Shanghai, some vessels delayed 2-4 days.
AAC3 - due to fog season in China especially at Shanghai and Ningbo, vessels have been delayed 2-4 days.
AAC4/PSW9 - due to fog season in China especially at Shanghai and Ningbo, vessels have been delayed about 2 days.

Trans Pacific Trade - Pacific North West/Asia

CPNW/PNW2 - there are fog-related delays to Ningbo and Shanghai now account for vessels being been delayed 1-2 days.
MPNW/PNW4 - due fog season in China especially at Shanghai and Ningbo and congestion at Canadian ports, vessels have been delayed 1-4 days.

Marine Terminal Activity:

DIVERSIONS (Change of terminal a vessel is calling or skip of port) to normal port rotations. Others may occur suddenly.

AWE1/USEC4 - EVER LIBERAL QQJ-026-E divert to SHA45 [Shanghai Int’l Port Shang Dong] i/o SHA41 [Shanghai Guandong III] [17 June call]

AWE3/USEC5 - OOCL MALAYSIA NH8-008-W skip NGB07 [Ningbo Meishan Int’l Container Terminal]

Trans-Atlantic Trade - USEC+USG/Europe

TAE2/TA4 - CSL VIRGINIA N37-015-E will skip RTM10 [Rotterdam World Gateway]

Trans Pacific Trade – West Coast North America/Asia

CEN/PSW2 - CSCL SPRING HCS-015 divert to LAS01 [West Basin N BCT] I/O LGB01 [Pacific Container Terminal] [5 July 2018 call] due bridge construction.

AAC3 - KRISTINA NR1-011 skip TAO02 [Qingdao Qianwan] [17 June] to regain schedule.

AAC3 - KOTA CANTIK S5J-042 skip TAO02 [Qingdao Qianwan] [8 July]

Trans Pacific Trade – Pacific North West/Asia

CPNW/PNW2 - COSCO EUROPE CCE-059-S skip YOK01 [Yokohama Honmoku BC2] [16 June 2018 call]. CSCL ASIA RVQ-129-S phase out at Shanghai.

Our Long Beach office and all West Coast Terminals observe three (3) Holidays in July;

July 4th, Independence Day (a national holiday);
July 5th, Bloody Thursday (an ILWU/Labor observed holiday);
July 28th, Harry Bridges Birthday (an ILWU/Labor observed holiday).

The calendar this year has July 4th and July 5th falling on a Wednesday and Thursday.

July 28th (Harry Bridges Birthday) falls on Saturday and the Long Beach Office as well as most Terminals will be closed on Monday July 30th in observance of the holiday

Rail Service Activity:

The BNSF train derailment from June 5, 2018 in Seligman, AZ is delaying westbound railcars into LA/LB basin. Therefore, a projected rail car shortage is expected thru July 15.
There is major congestion at Pacific Container Terminal Long Beach; we will see aging increase to 10 days + again. (5 ships in 7 days)

Also, note, there is bridge work in the Port of Long Beach on July 4-7, 2018. Long Beach terminals will be impacted. Eastbound trains will be delayed.
COSCO Contingency plan is to have the CEN (China Shipping Container Lines Spring 7/4) service work at West Basin Container Terminal on July 4.

There are rail interchange delays in Chicago to the Norfolk Southern / CSX by 4 days +.

Prince Rupert is fully operational with 3 trains per day with on time departures.

Detroit: Canadian National railway ramp congestion, truckers charging surcharge, 125.00 to 175.00.

Truck Power Activity:

Truck shortages continue in Atlanta, Midwest, Norfolk, Nashville, Charlotte and all Ohio Valley.

Prince Rupert is fully operational with 3 trains per day with on time departures.

Chassis Providers Activity:

There is a chassis shortage being report at Columbus, Pittsburg, Savannah, Charleston and Minneapolis . This is due to increase of import volume as well as longer street dwell.


Effective July 1, 2018 DCLI will be the recommended chassis provider for COSCO SHIPPING Lines (North America) Inc. for the following markets and pool locations.
